Athletics

The two of you used to go to athletics ‘meetings’ in the summer. I remember this mostly because Catherine used to write me letters when you were there, telling me what was going on. (Seriously, HOW bad was I at athletics not to be included, oh, nevermind…) So, basically, the two of you will have far more to say here… Surely I could’ve done shot-put or something???

Playing Netball

Well this is going back a bit… as I recall.. Marie – Goal Shooter / Attack (great at catching the ball and popping it through the net)? Catherine – Goal Defence (fast and nippy keeping the ball away from the opposition’s net)? Lucy – Goal Keeper (very little action, just stood like a blob trying to block the opposition from scoring if they ever made it past C)? Or, were you Centre Catherine, or Goal Attack. Man, I’m hopeless.

I do recall a lot of our practices, in the cold and wet, getting a bit muddy. Great to be proper English girls isn’t it. And for some reason I keep thinking of our silly bibs and stiff skirts!

I do know we made it through a lot of matches one term and then I couldn’t play one of our big matches cos I’d broken my little finger, or something.
