The Embassy

Some space must be given to the place that sucked so much of our hard earned, 18/19 year old wages. Every town in the UK has a club like The Embassy and we should try not to feel too embarassed that we spent so much / any time there…

Of course the temptation would be to write all the humiliating things that we did there but a) I can’t remember most of them b) this is a good thing c) there will be way more material on me that you two so I’m not starting anything. Let’s keep it fair yeah

All I will ask for is everyone’s honesty on the last time that you were in there….!

Lucy: I think it was the night when we went out for the meal at Cafe Rouge after the French trip where we (Catherine, Hugh, Peter and I) were ‘assistants’. Although, I may have tried to get in since then and it was closed. I was probably with Lisa…

Dancing shows

Marie, you and I were in a number of Maureen Brown dancing shows together. Although we did slightly different lessons didn’t we, so it wasn’t always the same dances etc. I don’t have the pictures here but I know deep in a cupboard in Merstham there are some classics lurking around. I’m particularly thinking the Mary Poppins routine and Fame! But of course there are others.. And you did the pantomime as well didn’t you?? That was a classic.

Catherine was at a different dance school so the only performance we ever did together was the Guide shows. Which is where this especially fetching picture originated I think.
